IB has 3 programs
- PYP – Primary Years Programme: Grade 1-5
- MYP – Middle Years Programme: Grade 6-10. This is the closest to O-Level
- DP – Diploma Programme: Grade 11-12. This is the equivalent of A-Level
So: MYP ≈ O-Level and DP ≈ A-Level
Key Differences
- Flexibility: O-Level you choose subjects. IB DP you MUST take 6 subjects: 2 Languages + Maths + Science + Humanity + 1 Elective + Core: TOK, EE, CAS
- Style: O-Level = content + exam focused. IB = research, thinking skills, essays focused
- University: Both accepted worldwide. IB is preferred by some Ivy League/US unis because of research skills
- Cost: IB is usually 2x-3x more expensive than O-Level in Pakistan
